Pattaya Beaches, Pattaya Beach Guide, Jomtien Beach and Naklua Beach

Pattaya Beach :

The main beach at Pattaya, Amphoe Bang Lamung, is a majestic 3-km. curve fronted by a road shaded with refreshing tropical greenery. The northern section of the beach is largely tranquil and is the favoured spot for tourists for swimming, relaxation, and various water sports. The central and southern parts of the beach are packed with hotels, restaurants, department stores, gift shops, nightclubs and various amusement centres.

back to top Jomtien Beach :

Jomtien Beach is divided from the main part of Pattaya by Pratumnak Hill, just south of the city. Jomtien is essentially a residential area with beachside hotels, bungalow complexes, condominiums and restaurants. A wide array of watersport activities can be found, including jet skis, parasailing and small sail boat (Hobie Cat) rental. Dongtan Beach, just past the Avalon Beach Resort in Jomtien, is known as the gay beach, and is busy every day of the year.

Jomtien's most visible landmark is the 56-story Pattaya Park tower, part of the Pattaya Park entertainment complex which also features a water park, roller coaster, monorail. This may soon be overshadowed by the proposed 91-floor Ocean One Tower. With an overall height of 367 meters, it would be the tallest building in Thailand and one of the tallest residential buildings in the world. The Jomtien district is already home to one of the largest resorts in Asia, the 4000+ room Ambassador City Jomtien.

back to top Naklua Beach :

Naklua Beach is the most northerly of the bays and by far the quietest. Naklua is much smaller than its neighbours and it does not suffer from the mass development Pattaya Beach has experienced. Like Jomtien it is more family friendly. The Pattaya municipality spent 1.8 million Baht on cleaning up the waters around Pattaya, and in Nakula it is now possible to see fish in the water. This makes bathing in the sea a genuine pleasure. Nakula is also a centre for windsurfers and windsurfing equipment can be hired from the beach.

How to get there: Once again the Songtaew 'Baht Buses' are the most convenient way to get to Nakula.

back to top Wong Prachan Beach :

Won Prachan Beach is on the northern side of Pattaya Bay. The 1-kilometer beach shares the same entrance as the Central Wong Amat Hotel. A quiet spot, the beach is ideal for swimming and relaxation.

back to top Bang Saen Beach :

Bangsaen Beach is a famous beach for the local people and Bangkok's Expatriate Community. Approximately 13 kilometres from the city of Chonburi, it branches off to the right-hand side from Sukhumvit Highway, at kilometres 104, for a distance of 3 kilometres. Stretching along the beachfront, is a 2.5 kilometre Road.

Along the beach, one finds vendors offering drinks and seafood snacks such as squid, mussels and spicy steamed-fish-cakes for sale.

One can rent deck chairs and rubber rings for swimming. Fresh water bathing facilities are also available. There are many delicious seafood restaurants which are in line with the beach have recently been improved in an organised manner to make it more pleasant to enjoy food.

Bang Saen Beach is ideal for visitors with limited time frame who wish to relax with their family and friends. It also offers several hotels and bungalows for overnight lodging.

Getting to Bang Saen Beach, Chonburi Province
From Sukhumvit Road, take a right turn at Km. 104 and proceed for another 3 Kilometres to get to Bang Saen Beach which is only 14 kilometres from Chonburi Province.
